Library Rules

Library Rules Responsibility:

  • Library working hours: 09-00 A.M to 5-30 P.M. Reference section will be kept open for the students from Morning 9.30 AM to Evening 5:00 PM. However, Books will be issued to the students according to the library timetable.
  • Producing the Library card and College ID card is mandatory for borrowing Books and Other documents.
  • Every Student needs to take No Due certificate from the Library if they are getting transfer certificate, marks cards or to get change of college.
  • Reminders: Reminders would be sent to the users for overdue items via postcards, Circulars to the class, Name will be announced on the College Notice Board, and an official letter will be sent to their personal address to take the further action.
  • Loss/damage: Readers shall not write upon, damage, make any mark upon any book, manuscript, or map belonging to the library. Erase of any mark of stamp, label etc. on a book or manuscript of map belonging to the Library will be considered it as misconduct and justification will be asked
  • Loss of the borrowed document is to be replaced within one month at user cost; the Student will be charged double cost of the damaged document. The account section and the receipt of the same have to submit to the library will collect such penalty.
  • No personal belongings including books are allowed inside the library. Students should use the property counter to keep their belongings, which is kept in the entrance of the Library, and Library Staff is not responsible for any missing belongings.
  • OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is kept at the entrance of the library need to be used before making entry to the stack area to select book of your interest.
  • Every person who enters to use any section of the library should sign the watch register, kept in that section.
  • All users and the library staff should maintain silence and strict discipline in the library.
  • Everyone should ensure that no reader should feel disturbed in his or her study by any act of his/her.
  • Use of eatables in the library is strictly prohibited.
  • Utmost care shall be taken by all to keep the library clean.
  • No printed document /photocopy will be allowed to brought inside the library unless for returning.
  • Users are responsible for complying with copyright act while photocopying library documents.
  • Users are requested to return the books/documents on the circulation counter.
  • Improper use of library facilities by a member will lead to the suspension/termination of his/her membership or may be lead to suspension of library privilege for the time being.
  • Library rules and regulation may be modified from time to time and shall be binding on all concerned.
  • Entry in the library by the users is granted on the expresses understanding that they are legally binding themselves to obey all the library rules.


Cyber Space Rules

  • Do not use the computers to do the following:
  1. Emails
  2. Browsing social network site
  3. Playing Games
  4. Playing Music
  • Do not install or uninstall any program or service in any computer.
  • If any device of the computer is not working, do not fix it kindly report at the reference desk or to the person in charge.
  • Users are allowed to use the computer for a time allocated by the library staff. If needed they can be asked to give others opportunity to use the computers.
  • Do not send jobs for printing, it is not allowed within the cyber. If necessary, contact the Library Authority.
  • Please do not use USB port.

NOTE: The main purpose of these rules is to safeguard the common interest of all users and to enable the library to carry out its functions as efficiently as possible.
